BEADED PATTERNS

One of the most difficult aspects of jewellery making is deciding on a pattern.  You probably already have all the supplies and various lovely beads and just want to get started—well STOP!!!

Planning out your beaded pattern will save you time and aggravation.  Using your beading board, place your beads, spacers and findings where you want them to be.  Some things to consider of course are length, style, and color.

LENGTH

Choker  15-16 inches

Princess  18 inches

Matinee   20-26 inches

Opera  28-36 inches

Rope/Lariat  48 inches+

STYLE

Repeating – is a set of a few beads patterning over and over again.

Symmetrical – has a focal bead with symmetrical pattern on each side.

Random – mix and match a variety of shapes and colors.

COLOR

Experiment with different colors.  What do you want?  Monochromatic, opposites, complimentary? Don’t forget your spacer beads to add a little silver, gold, copper, or antique metal.

As always, be creative and have fun with your beading project.  Remember yours is a unique work of art that no one else will be wearing but you.

Have Fun and Happy Beading!
