been known to man for over 7000 years. Known in China
as ‘Yu’ or ‘Royal Gem’. The Chinese use
jade as grave furnishings for higher members of the

and other regions, jade was admired as the stone of
love, inner peace, harmony, balance, luck and
protection.
The term
‘Jade’ can be applied to two different silicate
minerals. Nephrite can be creamy white as well
as a variety of green shades. Jadeitite is found
with more color variations including blue, lavender,
pink as well as emerald green. Of the two, Jadeitite is
the rarer. Translucent, emerald green Jadeitite is the
most prized of all.
Jade is
the official gemstone of British Columbia and Alaska
where large deposits are found. Today, Jade is regarded
as the symbol of the good, the beautiful and the
precious. It embodies virtues of wisdom, justice,
compassion modesty and courage. Jade is also used in
gemstone therapy to stimulate creativity and mental
agility while also having a balancing and harmonizing
effect.
